Technical Information & Technical Specification

Technical Information
  • The collector frame is made of corrosion resistant, special Aluminium Extrusions and the bottom of the collector is covered using Aluminium sheet.
  • The bottom and the sides of the collector are insulated with high temperature resistant Rock Wool slabs to prevent radiation of heat to the surroundings.
  • Collectors are singlr glazed with Toughened/Tempered glass. The glass is fitted with rubber beading around its edges to ensure that the collector is air tight and there is no heat loss from the collector.
  • The parts of the collector are assembled such that they can be easily dismantled during service and re-assembled.
  • The absorber surface used in the collector is SOLCHROME selectively coated FIn-N-Tube. The Fin is selectively coated with Nickel and Black Chrome. The SOLCHROME selective coating is more efficient than any other coating. This efficiency is acheived by the unique properties of the coating which is applied in a thickness that matches the wavelength of the incoming Solar radiation. Once the solar energy is absorbed by the Solchrome Solar selectively coatings, the wavelength changes before it is re-radiated, and hence very little of heat energy absorbed is emitted. 96% of the Solar Radiation falling on the SOLCHROME coated surface is absorbed while only 12% of the energy absorbed is emitted. On days of low sunshine or low ambient temperature, the Solar Collector using SOLCHROME coating can out-perform any other surface coating by delivering 2 or 3 times more energy.
SOLCHROME SOLAR SELECTIVELY COATED FIN & TUBE

Bonding:

SOLCHROME selectively coated FIN -N-TUBE are Tig welded in a continous process. It does not make use of solder or adhesives as in mechanical joints. The metallurgical bonding acheived ensures a very high degree of thermal efficiency. It also ensures that the bonding can stand upto high degrees of stagnation temperature (300 C)

Conductivity:

Normal Bonds like solder, adhesive or mechanical bonds require a very much wider joint in order for the fin to transfer the heat without additional resistance. On the other hand, metallurgical bonding acheives unrestricted transfer of heat from the FIN to the TUBE.

Durability:

As the bond between the FIN and the TUBE is metallurgical and also since there is no third metal like solder used to join the FIN and the TUBE, the durability of the joint is very high.
  • None of the inputs in the collector contains any corrosive parts. The minimum life of the absorber material is 20 Years.
  • The Solar tank is fabricated using Stainless Steel (304), which ensures hygiene and long life. It is insulated with high temperature resistant Rock Wool. The insulated tank can retain the hot water at the same temperature for about 48 hours.
  • Designed and Fabricated as per to the specifications of BIS & MNES.
